Abstract
Human resources is an integral part of the systems that make up an organization or company. In achieving corporate goals that have been set, its performance will be affected by the performance of the individual. In the ever-evolving human society always have an increasingly important position. Performance of employees must receive serious attention from the leadership of the company, considering the employee's performance will be the main source of the performance of the company or organization. Performance of employees must be managed in order to be maintained at an optimal position. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the influence of communication and emotional intelligence on the performance of employees at PT. XYZ in Surabaya. This research is quantitative descriptive. This study attempts to examine some of the factors thought to have an influence on the performance of employees, namely communication and emotional intelligence. Research questions posed in this study are: (1) Is the communication affect the performance of employees, (2) Is emotional intelligence affects the performance of employees. There are 47 respondents were selected as sample by using sampling techniques such as simple random sampling. The data collection method is by using a questionnaire. Techniques of data analysis in this study is multiple regression analysis. The results of hypothesis testing has proven that communication and emotional intelligence positive and significant impact on employee performance. The variable that has the most impact is communication. Based on the calculation of the variable coefficient of 0.391 communication and t value of 2.777 with a significance level of 0.0008 results = 0.05, while emotional intelligence obtained from the variable coefficient value of 0.387 and t value of 2.573 with a significance level results 0.009 = 0.05. The implication of this study is communication and emotional intelligence has an equally important role in improving the performance of employees.
