Abstract

This study aims to determine the direct effect of reward and motivation onemployee performance, and the indirect effect of reward and punishments onemployee performance through work motivation as an intervening variable at PTSinar Mitra Sepadan Finance in Sidoarjo. This study uses a type of quantitativeresearch, using a population and a sample of 50 respondents employees of PTSinar Mitra Sepadan Finance in Sidoarjo, using analysis of data path analysiswith the help of SPSS data processing software. The results of the study indicatethat reward has a significant effect on employee performance at PT Sinar MitraSepadan Finance in Sidoarjo, with an influence value of 25.8%. Punishment hasa significant effect on employee performance at PT Sinar Mitra Sepadan Financein Sidoarjo, with an influence value of 23.8%. Reward has a significant effect onWork Motivation at PT Sinar Mitra Sepadan Finance in Sidoarjo, with an influencevalue of 46.3%. Punishment has a significant effect on Work Motivation at PTSinar Mitra Sepadan Finance in Sidoarjo, with an influence value of 31.8%. WorkMotivation has a significant effect on employee performance at PT Sinar MitraSepadan Finance in Sidoarjo, with a value of influence of 41.7%. Reward has asignificant effect on employee performance through motivation as an interveningvariable at PT Sinar Mitra Sepadan Finance in Sidoarjo, with the value of directinfluence better than indirect influence. Punishment has a significant effect onemployee performance through motivation as an intervening variable at PT SinarMitra Sepadan Finance in Sidoarjo, with the value of direct influence better thanindirect influence.
