Abstract
This research was aimed to examine the influence of emotional intelligence (eqmotional quotient/EQ) and job characteristics on employee welfare and job performance. One of the things that must be considered by the company in managing its management functions is how to manage human resources to improve efficiency and effectiveness of work. The sample in this study that the author took was a number of 40 employees of PT. Mega Finance Surabaya Branch. The sample was conducted by simple random sampling method. collecting data was conducted by a questionnaire, obsevation, interview, and documentary research. The result of this research showed that emotional intelligence and job characteristics have little effect on employee welfare. The results also showed that the partial variables Emotional intelligence and job characteristics significantly influence job performance
