Abstract
As an institution of public trust and a part of the bank's monetary system has a strategic position as supporting economic development. So that the health of banks needs to be maintained because of the trust become an important capital for banks doing business. To maintain public confidence in the bank to do banking and financial performance assessment also measures the health of banks through bank financial ratio calculation. The purpose of this study was to test the Return On Asset (ROA) which is influenced Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non Performing Loan (NPL), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), and ROA at government banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2012- 2014. For sampling used sampling methods saturated. Data obtained by the publication of annual reports four state banks namely BRI, BTN, BNI and Bank Mandiri downloaded via the official website of Indonesia Stock Exchange 2012-2014. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study found that the NPL and LDR negative but insignificant effect on ROA. While CAR and ROA positive and significant impact on ROA. The predictive ability of the four independent variables on ROA is 35.4% which indicated the amount of adjusted R2, the remaining 64.6% is explained by other causes outside the model.
