Abstract
Sejahtera Abadi Cigarette Factory is a cigarette company that located in Malang city and has been existed since 2007. This company always trying their best to produce the best product and minimize any kind of severe defect in their product, so they set the tolerance standart in 4% for SKM and 2% for SKT in every production activity. Even the defect level of the product is always fluctuate but that is all still sit below the standart that they set. The purpose of this research is to know how the implementation of quality control using statistical tools bring the good impact for the effort to control severe defect in every product in the company. The analysis of quality control will performed using check sheet as the statistical tools and the P control chart used to display the data in order to make it easier to understand for the purpose of the next analysis. P control chart used to supervise the defect product, is that still in tune with statistical control or not.The next step are to make a recapitulation of the result of P control chart and looking for the causative factor of the defect in the product then create some recommendation for quality improvement. The result of P control chart analysis will shows that every process are controlled or not which is exceed the limit of tolerance that had been set. It can be seen in the recapitulation that in every period the defect product not exceed the limit of the tolerance yet, but the defect in the product still found. The defect came from the human resources/ the employee, production machinery, work method, raw materials and work environment, so the company can take any action for the more maximal result of production, and being better than before.
